Maybe the Chosen One ought to cancel his trip to Copenhagen
Politico is reporting that Ben Nelson (D), Nebraska said the new compromise language on abortion is “unacceptable”. If true, this certainly squashes Harry Reid’s vision of securing the 60 votes needed to pass this bill. Nelson even went one step further in saying, “even if abortion is addressed to his satisfaction, that is not enough to commit to voting for the bill.” Strong statement, but he certainly looks like he could be convinced if Captain Wonderful called him into the oval office for a shoulder massage…on his discussions with Obama:
He knows that is a personal matter and a matter of principle and we are trying to work through it,” Nelson said. “What he has pointed out is there are consequences of not doing something. And that is absolutely correct.”
There is the key statement…”something needs to be done”. Um, no…NOT true Mr. Nelson. We will not implode of we do nothing with healthcare this year or next. Changes certainly need to be made, but there are other pressing needs. Have you heard the TRUE unemployment rate is 17%? Hey, Ben…Iran is very close to having a nuclear weapon. In other news, we have exploded the deficit to trillions upon trillions of dollars. Just thought maybe you and your cohorts should know because it appears that your priorities need to be removed from your ass.
